It's been a while...

Sorry, it's been a while again! I don't even know what I've been doing really, time just seems to have slipped away!

I hope you've all had a good Christmas and New Year!

I was a very lucky girl this Christmas... Santa brought me a new DSLR camera (I think he must fancy me!) He also got me a full day photography course out in the Peak District so expect to see some better pictures around here soon!

I've not gotten round to doing any of the stuff I'd planned to do this Christmas break (i.e nothing but sitting on my backside watching chick flicks and eating rubbish). Instead, I've ended up painting a bookcase (4 coats of paint - bloody hell!), making chocolate mint fudge and ginger bread christmas trees as gifts, cleaning, cooking for friends, visiting family.... I do less while I'm at work (Ann, if you're reading this, it's not true, I do lots at work too!)

We've had a very snowy December here this year. We had around three foot, it was above my knees and our poor little Maddie could barely be seen in it!

I've been out practicing with my new camera and found some great ice "sculptures" - the whole river was frozen behind our house, it looked like something out of Superman!

I know you all told me not to, but I kept thinking about setting up a travel blog and the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to do it! So I have now got a second blog where I will only talk about travel - where I'm going, where I dream of going and where my readers are going. I want it to be interactive so I'm going to do a monthly reader feature where a fellow traveller can talk about their experiences, their favourite trips etc.

I'd love it if the friends I've made on this blog would follow me over there and it would be great if you could all tell me about your travels, or even about where you live! I hope to see you there! http://travelling-kat.blogspot.com 

Don't worry though, I'll still be writing over here as well... I hope to start getting crafty again this year. It's my new years resolution!
